An Air Services Limited (ASL) aircraft Thursday morning ran off the airstrip at Kurupung, resulting in damage to the aircraft, according to sources.

No one was reported injured in the incident that occurred about 9:40 AM.

The sources said that Captain Michael Halim related that the brakes for the Britten Norman Islander, bearing registration number 8R-GAR, failed on landing.

This latest incident involving an ASL plane came one month after a Britten Norman Islander belonging to that domestic airline went missing while on shuttle flight from Mahdia to Karisparu.
