Lorry crushes Rupununi motorcyclist to death

Police on Saturday said they were investigating a fatal accident that occurred at about 5:30 Friday afternoon in Lethem.

Investigators said the accident occurred in the Poke Bridge, Lethem Trail area, and which resulted in the death of motor cyclist Lindy Ambrose, 27 years, of Haiwa, Central Rupununi.

The probe has so far revealed that Ambrose attempted to overtake a motor lorry during which he lost control of the vehicle and was run over by the lorry.

He was pronounced dead on arrival at the Lethem Hospital.

The driver of the motor lorry is in police custody assisting with the investigations.
