Bandits grab pension money from post office

The Guyana Post Office Corporation’s branch at Lamaha and Carmichael Streets, Georgetown.
Bandits Monday morning struck at the Guyana Post Office’s Carmichael and Lamaha Street branch from where they carted off GUY$4 million.

Police said one of the perpetrators struck the security guard with a “hard object.”. Investigators said no shots were fired.

The money was to be used to pay Old Age Pensions.
