A five-year old Guyanese boy and an elderly Brazilian man lost their lives in a boat mishap on the Cuyuni region late Monday afternoon, police said.
Dead are Henrique Salvao De Souza, 66 years, of Junior Ross Landing, Cuyuni, and Bisham Munilall, 5 years, of Charolette Street, Georgetown. The boy’s body has not been recovered.
Police said a boat travelling along a river at Dukwari, Cuyuni, struck a rock and several passengers were thrown overboard.
