Cocaine-in-ornaments now for export

One woman is among three persons arrested in connection with‎ the discovery of a quantity of cocaine in ornaments at an airline bond at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA).

Police spokesman, Ivelaw Whittaker said anti-narcotics agents unearthed the cocaine in ceramic ornaments during a search on cargo at the bond. Demerara Waves Online News was told that the narcotic was found at the AmeriJet bond about 8:10 Monday morning.

“The total quantity has not yet been ascertained,” said the police spokesman in a statement.

In recent weeks, narcotics police and agents of the Customs Anti Narcotics Unit (CANU) have been seizing cocaine at the CJIA and Ogle Airports.
