Father of three pleads guilty to burglary; begs for light penalty

A father of three, who is expecting a fourth child, has pleaded guilty to break and enter and larceny, but would be sentenced early next month after a probation report is filed.

Twenty-four year old Seon Blair appealed to Chief Magistrate, Priya Sewnarine-Beharry to be lenient with him because he has three children and he was expecting a third one shortly. Blair told the court that he has two prior convictions and added that he had two prior convictions.

Blair would be sentenced on May 9 following a report by a probation officer.

He was caught inside Dewyn Winter’s home at Kitty Public Road on April 9 with a Coby Stereo set, two pairs of jeans and two jerseys with a total value of GUY$75,000.

The prosecution’s case was that about 2:45 PM on he said date, Winter was at home sleeping while the back door was opened. After he was awaken by noise, he saw Blair in his house.

Winter closed the door and summoned the police who arrested him. A bag containing the articles was seen on the floor next to the burglar.
