Suspected robber caught after shootout with police

A 24-year old man was arrested after exchanging gunfire with policemen who saw him allegedly pull a gun on a woman as she was leaving her Sophia home.

After the shooting, the man- Keron Cummings- jumped into a canal near the Sophia Health Centre where he was taken out and handcuffed.

The gun was later found in the canal near the Sophia Health Centre.

The intended robbery victim, only known as “dumb girl”, was struck to her neck and a buttock during the gunfire exchange.

Police were in the area and saw when Cummings allegedly pulled the gun on the woman.
