Teen dead, two injured in West Bank Demerara accident

A 16-year old boy of Pouderoyen, West Bank Demerara was early Tuesday morning killed when the car he was travelling in slammed into a utility pole.

He has been identified as Jomal Archer.

Police said the accident occured about 4 AM on the Goed Fortuin Public Road, West Bank Demerara.

“Investigations have revealed that the motor vehicle was proceeding along the roadway, allegedly at a fast rate, when the driver lost control and the car collided with a utility pole,” police force spokesman, Ivelaw Whittaker said in a statement.

Archer `and two other occupants were taken to the WDRH where he was pronounced dead on arrival, while the others were admitted.
