The Demerara Harbour Bridge (DHB) on Monday said that almost one month after a policeman slammed into the thoroughfare and tossed the Bridge Manager, Rawlston Adams’ cellular phone into the river
“The Police are currently conducting an internal investigation into the matter,” the Harbour Bridge said in a statement.
The Bridge company said policeman David Lindo crashed his vehicle into a section of the bridge on January 29, 2014 which caused over GYD$200,000 in damages.
According to the General Manager Rawlston Adams, the incident occurred around 11:40 PM. “The Officer’s vehicle collided into the Bridge Rails at Span 45 which damaged two Cable Trays and a Diamond Panel Member.
The company said the total figure for the compromised section amounted to $233,703.
The company aslo accused the policeman of throwing Adams’ mobile phone into the river. “However, it has been replaced,” the company added.
