A taxi driver was Monday convicted of causing death by dangerous driving- a charge to which he had pleaded not guilty when he was arraigned in August last year.
City Magistrate, Judy Latchman sentenced 25-year old Leron Griffith to 60 months imprisonment.
He was found guilty of causing the death of Chinese national, Feng Xue Fang on Mandela Avenue on May 31,2013 on Mandela Avenue, Georgetown.
Particulars of the offence are that he was driving motor car, HC 2408, in a dangerous manner that caused the death of the woman.
The prosecution led five witnesses in evidence. Griffith was represented by Attorney-at-Law, Melville Duke.
