Debt collector robbed; gun found in abandoned car

A debt collector was Tuesday night robbed of an estimated GUY$1 million and his abandoned car was later found with a shotgun inside, police said. 

Police sources said Imran Khan of Herstelling, East Bank Demerara was robbed by two men, one of whom was armed with a firearm, about 8:15 PM. 

Khan, a debt collector for Sun Food Enterprise, was exiting Industrial Site, Georgetown in motor car PGG 275, when he was robbed by the men and his car taken away. 

Police said the car was later recovered at Middle Road, La Penitence, Georgetown. A 20-gauge shotgun with one cartridge was found in the vehicle.
