Police on the West Coast Demerara were Sunday rounding up several suspects in the killing of a former employee of the Guyana Sugar Corporation (Guysuco) at his home.

He has been identified as 57-year old Jamaludeen Sattaur, a pensioner, of 28 Stewartville.

Investigators said his reputed wife found his motionless body in his bedroom. He had a wound to the left side of his head.

The woman, who is a security guard at the Ministry of Agriculture, discovered the body about 8 AM on her return from work.

Police said the perpetrator entered the top flat of Sattaur’s home by using a ladder.

The house was ransacked but it was not immediately clear what was stolen from the poor couple.
