City Police caught with marijuana

Last Updated on Saturday, 26 December 2015, 21:00 by GxMedia

A member of the Georgetown City Constabulary on Thursday pleaded guilty for being in possession of one gram of marijuana and he was fined and ordered to provide community service.

22-year old Jermaine Fenty of D’Urban Street was caught with the marijuana at the Ferry Stelling, Stabroeke.

The prosecution’s case was that about 9:40 PM on December 11, a police mobile patrol went to the stelling and saw Fenty rolling the leaves, seeds and stem into a cigarette form to smoke.

Chief Magistrate  Priya Sewnarine-Beharry ordered him to pay a fine of GUY$3000 and provide six months of community service.
