A domestic aircraft ran off the Ogle Airport runway as a result of a “partial brake seizure’ but no one was injured, a spokesman said.
The incident occurred around midday when the Britten Norman Islander was landing on a return trip from Kurupung.
Six passengers and Pilot Ramcharran were aboard the plane bearing registration number 8R-GHM.
Spokesman for Ogle Airport Inc. and Trans Guyana Aviation (TGA), Kit Nascimento said the aircraft “experienced on landing a partial brake seizure” but it was not damaged due to the incident.
He said that caused the aircraft to partly lose its steering and come off the side of the runway.
As a precautionary measure, a fire tender was deployed near the aircraft.
Nascimento said the aircraft has gone for maintenance and the Guyana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has been notified about the “minor incident”.
