Chinese nationals in Lethem store tied up, robbed

Several Chinese workers were Wednesday night tied up in a store at Lethem and robbed of at least GUY$10 million, sources confirmed.

The incident occurred about 8PM at Pacifico.

The cash stolen is said to have been the day’s sales and consisted of Brazilian, American and Guyanese currency.

The bandits have escaped. It is unclear whether the perpetrators included Brazilians.
