Two persons were Tuesday questioned and released in connection with the killing of a male sex worker on the Corentyne.

The body of 36-year old Nandkumar Purnwassie also known as Vishaul, Champa and Dasrhinie of Tain, Corentyne was found about 5 AM Tuesday on a street at Anchor Ville, Port Mourant, Corentyne.

The body has a wound to the head. A piece of wood was found next to his body.

Investigators were told by a watchman that someone was seen chasing Purnwassie during the hours of darkness. The probe has so far revealed that Purnwassie left his home about 10 AM Monday to go to Anker Ville to help a friend clean for the Christmas Season.

Crime sleuths were up to late Tuesday collecting additional information that they hoped would be vital to their probe. One theory police is working on is that Purnwassie was terminally ill and so he might have been targeted for that reason.

Police confirmed that Purnwassie was a male sex worker who frequented the Anchor Ville area to offer his services.
