A restaurateur was robbed of GUY$3.5 million dollars on the Mabura Road by gunmen Sunday night, police said.
He is 58-years old Peter Rajmangal of Friendship Public Road, East Bank Demerara.
Police said Rajmangal was driving a minibus on 58-miles Mabura Road when an oncoming car swerved and blocked his path. Two gunmen exited, held him up and took away the cash and one cellular phone.
He and his wife own Peter and Ruth’s Restaurant, catering mainly for people travelling to and from Lethem.
No arrests were reported, but investigations are continuing.
