Updated: Man shoots self to death on seawall

A man Friday afternoon committed suicide by shooting himself in his mouth on the East Coast Demerara Seawall in the vicinity of Conversation Tree.

He has been identified as 71-year old Robert Marvin Wight, a resident of Bel Air Gardens.

Investigators said Whyte, a retired employee of a major beverage company, used his licensed firearm to committ suicide about 2:50 PM.

His .32 Taurus revolver with four rounds and one spent shell has been recovered by the police.
