A man, who allegedly assaulted his eight-month old baby , was Friday granted bail when he appeared in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.
Police alleged that Anthony Francisco on August 20 at 158 Laing Avenue assaulted his eight month old daughter and allegedly threatening his 19-year old stepson. The prosecutor objected to bail stating that the facts state that he dealt the baby several kicks and punches and well as threw her down on several occasions.
The occasional scrap metal seller told Magistrate Faith Mc Gusty that his stepson, Travis Williams who works at the Guyana Power and Light, was lying on him because they are in constant disagreements.
The mother of the baby told the court that the child was taken for a medical but nothing is wrong with her. The woman did not answer the magistrate directly whether she was told about the alleged assault of the baby. Instead, she explained that that her son told her one night when she returned from work that the baby was vomiting and he took her and placed her on the floor and left her there
The man was granted bail 10,000 each on both charges.
He is expected to return to court on September 4.
