Police were Saturday morning probing an alleged murder-suicide involving a man and his wife at Mahaica, East Coast Demerara.
Dead are Angela Richmond and Ryan James.
James, a former soldier, allegedly clobbered his wife with a hammer before drinking poison. A subsequent police release stated that Richmond’s body bore multiple stab wounds.
James was a former soldier in the Guyana Defence Force (GDF) and a handyman for a top official of the Civil Defence Commission up to the time of his death.
DemWaves was told that the two were engaged in a heated argument after attending a wedding ceremony.
This is the third violent domestic dispute for the week, the first being on July 31 when a man chopped his two young children to death and seriously injured his wife at Zeelugt, East Bank Essequibo. The second one was in Sophia on August 2 when a man severely chopped his wife and threee step children.
