The body of a Mocha youth who went missing earlier this week was found Friday morning in the backdam of the East Bank Demerara village.
Delon Melville, 25, of Nelson Street, Mocha, was last seen alive by his family on Monday.
Demerara Waves Online News understands that the partly decomposed body was found around 6AM by several individuals who were heading into the backlands. Reports say the corpse was naked and bore what appeared to be several stab wounds.
Melville was reportedly at home watching television with a nephew when he received a call and left the house on Monday.
Reports say he got into a car some distance away from the house and was not seen again.
A subsequent police release said his body was found in a trench and that the force would await the results of a post mortem examination as it conducted its investigation.
