Chinese supermarket, pharmacist robbed

A Chinese supermarket was robbed of  GUY$3.2 million by two men, one of whom was armed with a shotgun, police said.

The robbery victim’s name has been given as Cahannnan Jaing.

Police were told that the bandits struck during heavy rainfall at the weekend. One of them concealed the shotgun in an umbrella while entering the premises at Cummings Street and North Road.

No one was injured and no shots were fired. Police up to Monday morning have not arrested anyone in connection with that robbery.

Police also reported that a pharmacist, 25-year old Marilyn Samaroo, was robbed at gunpoint while going to work at the Davis Memorial Hospital Sunday night.

She was robbed around 7 PM by a man who rode up on a motorcycle. He took away her cellular phone and GUY$6,000.00.
