Security guard dies in fire

A woman, who was a security guard, was burnt to death in a house at Plaisance, East Coast Demerara. She has been identified a 30-year old Susie Best. The fire of unknown origin occurred some time around 4 AM on Victoria Road over the Railway Embankment Road. The fire started in the house that Best was occupying and quickly spread to another house next door.  In all, two houses were destroyed and one severely scorched. Investigators said Best was living in the house for several years and recently lost a court case. She was given until August 2013 to vacate the premises. The owners reside overseas. Neighbours said she was seen Saturday buying kerosene.
