A man stabbed his reputed wife dead and attempted suicide, leaving him in a critical condition.
The incident occurred around midday Saturday at their home, Kuru Kuru, Soesdyke Highway.
The woman has been identified as 23-year old Shamieza Ramdatt.
The perpetrator, 40-year old Shameer Ali, was apprehended in a clump of bushes nearby with his throat slit.
Hospital sources said he was rushed to the Diamond Hospital from where he was transferred to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation.
Ali’s condition was listed as critical. “He doesn’t look like he will make it (survive),” a source said.
