cocaine(CayCOMPASS).-A woman whose home address is in Georgetown, Guyana appeared in Summary Court on Tuesday charged with importation of approximately one pound of cocaine.

Crown Counsel Kenneth Ferguson said Tracy Accalia Bourne travelled from Suriname through Trinidad and then to Jamaica before arriving in Grand Cayman.

Bourne was arrested at Owen Roberts International Airport on Friday, 12 April.

The defendant did not have an attorney and Magistrate Valdis Foldats suggested that she apply for legal aid because of the seriousness of the charges.

She is also accused of possessing the cocaine with intent to supply.

Mr. Ferguson said Bourne had no legal right to be Cayman and there was no application for bail.

The magistrate remanded her in custody until the next mention date.
