Suspect in businesswoman’s robbery nabbed

gun robberyOne man has been arrested and police are hunting two others in connection with the armed robbery of almost half a million dollars from a businesswoman on the Corentyne.


Police said 28-year old Seena Nauth had just returned to her Williamsburg, Corentune home around 1:30 Monday afternoon when three masked men barged in through the open door.  Two of them were armed with handguns.


The perpetrators took away GUY$498,000.00 and a quantity of jewellery and escaped.


“During the robbery the victim pulled off the mask from one of the men, who was subsequently arrested at Rose Hall, Corentyne,” police said in a statement.


He is in police custody assisting with the investigations.
