A woman slit the throat of her newborn baby and took it to Olive Creek, Enachu.
The mother has been arrested. She is in her mid 20s and is from Herstelling.
Police took the body of the eight month-old boy to nearby medical personnel to be officially pronounced dead. Investigators believed that she used a nail clip file to carry out the heinous act at Tamakay Landing before travelling 20 miles by boat to Olive Creek.
The child was missing since Monday (April 8).
Well-placed sources told Demerara Waves Online News (www.demwaves.com) that the woman hid the baby in a clump of nearby bushes.
Initially, she was said to have been sleeping with the baby until it started to decompose. The remains were buried on Thursday.
