A 19-year old man, who attempted to rob a Kitty Seawall vendor, was stabbed to death and rushed to a city hospital in a car that was subsequently abandoned by his accomplice, police said.
The dead man has been identified as 19-year old Jamal Harris of D’Urban Street, Lodge. Police said he was stabbed to his abdomen around 2:30 Monday morning during “an altercation with a group of persons.”
Chief of Criminal Investigations, Deputy Commissioner Seelall Persaud explained that the vendor had a scuffle with man who was allegedly armed with a handgun.
A ‘junkie’ who is casual employee of the vendor allegedly stabbed the other man with a knife, said Persaud.
Moments later, they left in a car and transported the injured man to the hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
