Junkie fatally stabs suspected teen thief on seawall

knifeA 19-year old man, who attempted to rob a Kitty Seawall vendor, was stabbed to death and rushed to a city hospital in a car that was subsequently abandoned by his accomplice, police said.

The dead man has been identified as 19-year old Jamal Harris of D’Urban Street, Lodge. Police said he was stabbed to his abdomen around 2:30 Monday morning during “an altercation with a group of persons.”

Chief of Criminal Investigations, Deputy Commissioner Seelall Persaud explained that the vendor had a scuffle with man who was allegedly armed with a handgun.

A ‘junkie’ who is casual employee of the vendor allegedly stabbed the other man with a knife, said Persaud.

Moments later, they left in a car and transported the injured man to the hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Investigators on Monday were tracing the owner of the car that was left abandoned in the compound of the Georgetown Hospital.
