An elderly British national has died after he went swimming at the Pegasus Hotel, police say.
A release from the Guyana Police Force identified the man as Julian Dere, 77.
According to the force, Dere was seen motionless in the hotel’s swimming pool around 4.35PM Thursday and was rushed to the GPHC where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Dere was staying at the Touristville Hotel in Subryanville.
The police say they are awaiting the results of a post mortem examination as they continue their investigations.
