The Facebook page being used by the main opposition We Invest in Nationhood and Opposition Leader Azruddin Mohamed as its major tool of political communication has been reactivated.
Mr Mohamed had accused the People’s Progressive Party Civic (PPPC) of deleting the page, located at https://www.facebook.com/Teammohameds/ , which has more than 500,000 followers, after his phones were seized by police at the Leonora Police Station on September 3, 2026.
The Guyana Police Force and government did not confirm or deny the allegations by WIN and Mr Mohamed.
Earlier this month, he told Demerara Waves Online News that he was in contact with Meta in an effort to recover the page which was used as a major campaign tool before during and after last year’s general and regional elections.
He also said police returned his phones and a computer that were seized by police as part of their probe into allegations that he and another man were responsible for the flying of a drone over the private residence of President Irfaan Ali at Leonora, West Coast Demerara.
The other man, a contracted videographer, was charged with several violations of the Civil Aviation Act and two drones were seized from him.
Mr Mohamed has been using the Team Mohameds Facebook page to level several grave allegations of corruption against President Irfaan Ali and a number of ministers. They have all denied them.
