Mother, son shot in home invasion

A woman and her son were early Saturday morning shot and injured by armed bandits

Police said about 2:45 AM Saturday May 09, 2015, three men, one of whom was armed with a handgun, broke into a home at Cadet Lane, South Ruimveldt, where they confronted Mai Venezuela, 39 years, and her son Devon Venezuela, 19 years.

 The victims put up a resistance during which Mai Venezuela was shot and injured to her chin and Devon Venezuela was shot to his right foot and have been hospitalised. The perpetrators escaped.

 Investigations are in progress.
