Robbery accused shot dead in War Lock

A man charged with several offences was Wednesday morning shot dead in War Lock, East Ruimveldt less than one month after he was released from prison on bail, police said.

Dead is 21-year old Trevor Barrow of Agricola, East bank Demerara.

A senior police officer said Barrow and other members of a criminal group had an altercation and he was shot dead.

There were no immediate arrests, but police said they have an idea who committed the offence.

He was recently before the court in connection with a spate of robberies including one in January when he and an accomplice robbed a woman of two cellular phones.
