A man was shot dead and two others were injured when an unidentified man opened fire on James Street, Albouystown early on Thursday evening, police said.
Dead is Kevon “Author” Ridley, 28, a labourer of James Street.
No arrests have been made.
Investigators said they were continuing efforts to ascertain the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
Police said preliminary investigations indicated that an unidentified individual allegedly discharged several rounds in the area, resulting in Ridley sustaining multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation, where he was pronounced dead.
Police said two other persons were also injured during the incident.
A 30-year-old male vendor of Albouystown sustained a gunshot injury to his back and is receiving medical attention at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation, while a 43-year-old spray painter of Lust-en-Rust, West Bank Demerara, received a gunshot injury to his shoulder and is receiving treatment at a private medical facility. Both are reported to be in stable condition, police added.
