Most areas in Guyana’s capital Georgetown now have electricity again as Guyana Power and Light (GPL) technicians have isolated the problem and have restored power, an official said.
A feeder had earlier tripped and power company workers later located the problem at Regent and Cummings streets, Georgetown.
Severe lightning that accompanied heavy rainfall late Thursday morning and early afternoon caused a power outage in several areas of Georgetown, the power company official said. “The problem was isolated in Georgetown,” the official said.
The official said, “one feeder in Georgetown tripped”, causing the power outage in several areas of the capital.
