Police Sergeant Philbert Kendall was earlier Friday (April 25, 2025) arraigned at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court, charged with the murder of 21-year-old Ronaldo Peters, a resident of Linden, the Guyana Police Force said.
The charge was instituted against Sergeant Kendall following advice received from the Director of Public Prosecutions regarding the alleged fatal shooting of Ronaldo Peters, by Kendall.
Sergeant Philbert Kendall appeared in Georgetown Magistrate’s Court 3 before Senior Magistrate Fabayo Azore. He was not required to plead to the charge and was subsequently remanded to prison.
The case has been adjourned until May 9th, 2025.
Peters’ death had sparked a protest by Lindeners. During that protest, police allegedly shot another man dead.
