Agriculture Minister, Dr. Leslie Ramsammy urged residents in low-lying and coastal areas to take the necessary precautions. Those especially living in lower flats, he said, should consider the likelihood of flooding. “People should take the necessary precautions because they could be flash flooding in low lying areas. People also living in low flats should take precautions to avoid damages to furniture and equipment,” the ministry later said in a weather update. He said efforts should be made to protect poultry and livestock that are located in areas that are prone to flooding.
For the next six hours beginning 9 PM, weather forecasters predicted said that based on recent forecast model data, satellite and radar images, there would be continuing cloudy to overcast skies with scattered moderate to heavy showers and isolated thundershowers over regions Three to Six, Seven, Eight and Ten.
