Police were Sunday morning continuing their search for an Enmore businessman who was allegedly kidnapped and a ransom of GUY$50 million demanded from his family, a spokesman said.
The kidnap victim has been identified as 40-year old Rajendra Singh of Hope West, Enmore, East Coast Demerara. The incident occurred at about 6:45 PM Saturday at Foulis, Enmore.
Investigators were told that Singh was in his motor vehicle PFF 982 in front of his business place when his wife observed two men entering the vehicle which then drove off. She later received a phone call demanding the sum of $50M for the safe return of her husband,โ police said.
Police said the motor car has been found abandoned on the Goedverwagting Railway Embankment, East Coast Demerara by members of the Cummings Lodge Community Policing Group and handed over to crime sleuths.
