Police were Monday investigating whether a man attempted to commit suicide with an improvised shotgun or someone else shot him.
Arnold Roberts, 22, was in a critical condition at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC). He is nursing a gunshot wound to the left lower abdomen.
He told police that he shot himself about 6:30 PM Sunday at Yarakita, Mabaruma sub-region.
Roberts, said to be a hunter, claimed that he shot himself but medical sources doubt his account based on the number of pellets and the severity of the wound.
He was air-dashed to Georgetown midnight Sunday.
