Big Foot charged with murder of hotelier

Last Updated on Saturday, 26 December 2015, 21:00 by GxMedia

Brian ‘Big Foot’ Leitch

The 19-year old man who allegedly killed the South Central hotelier was Monday arraigned for the alleged murder of the owner of South Central Hotel, Joseph Alexander Jagdeo.

Brian ‘Big Foot’ Leitch was not required to plea to the indictable offence when he appeared before Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry.

Leitch, who was unrepresented, was remanded to prison until December 7.

The court was told that Leitch and a female were staying at the hotel. On November 13, Jagdeo became annoyed that his cellular phone was missing. When he approached Leitch, he became annoyed.

A caretaker broke into a room on December 14 and found Jagdeo’s motionless body under a bed tied up with pillow cases

The cellular phone was found in the possession of a woman who said she purchased it from Leitch.

He denied killing the hotelier but confessed to tying him up and pushing him under a bed.

Investigators found out that he met his former girlfriend at the New Opportunity Corps (NOC) and they rekindled and he had his own room at South Central.

Police said his girlfriend was still residing at the hotel and she has been very cooperative with crime sleuths.
