Teenagers arrested for Windsor Forest assault, victim asked to contact police

Last Updated on Sunday, 25 January 2026, 23:48 by Writer

The youths allegedly leaving the scene in this car which police said they located at Zeelugt, East Bank Essequibo.

Three teenage males were arrested on Sunday hours after a video began circulating on Facebook showing a man being robbed at First Lady Park, Windsor Forest, West Coast Demerara, the Guyana Police Force (GPF) said.

The GPF is appealing to the victim, or anyone with information in relation to this matter, to come forward and make contact with the nearest police station, police said.

Investigators said they were able to trace the ownership of the getaway car, PGG 6502, to Zeelugt, East Bank Essequibo where the driver, a 17-year-old male of Zeelugt, was contacted.

Police said he subsequently assisted the police in locating two other suspects — an 18-year-old also of Zeelugt and a 16-year-old of Uitvlugt, West Coast Demerara. They were arrested and, along with the car, taken to the Leonora Police Station, police said

The alleged robbery occurred on Saturday January 25, 2026 about 2 p.m.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the video showed three males assaulting another male at the location. One of them was seen pulling what appeared to have been a knife from his waist as he returned to collect footwear near the victim.

Persons nearby could be heard shouting at them to leave the victim alone.
