Four persons were on Wednesday remanded to prison in connection with the alleged seizure of more than 31 kilogrammes of cocaine earlier this week at Montrose, East Coast Demerara, the Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU) said.
The anti-drug agency said they were charged after the 27 brick-like parcels were allegedly found in a car on Broad Street, Montrose.
CANU said Andre Moonilall and Sherwin Laundry pleaded not guilty to the offence of possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking.
Sparendaam Magistrate Clive Nurse denied the duo bail and remanded them to prison until February 9, 2026.
Also remanded to prison until the same date are Jermin Adams and Amanda Lam after they pleaded not guilty to the offence of aiding in the trafficking of the cocaine.
