A 28-year-old unemployed man from Bee Hive, East Coast Demerara was on Monday remanded to prison after he pleaded not guilty to three related gun offences, police said.
Kevin Adams was charged in connection with a report of the alleged discharging of a loaded firearm at an event held at Retrieve Hard Court, Mackenzie, Linden on Saturday, December 28.
Police, who were on duty at the venue, intercepted him following observations of a firearm being discharged.
During a search, one .32 Taurus pistol with a magazine and ten live .32 rounds were found in his possession. No one was injured during the incident, police added.
Mr Adams appeared before Magistrate Rushell Liverpool, at the Linden Magistrate’s Court via Zoom and pleaded not guilty to possession of a firearm without a licence, possession of ammunition without a licence, and discharging a loaded firearm within 100 yards of a public way.
He was remanded to prison until January 13, 2026.
