Tuschen man found dead in Georgetown

Last Updated on Monday, 20 October 2025, 21:26 by Writer

Police were summoned to the Promenade Gardens late on Monday afternoon after the city constable on duty saw a wrapped object that was shaped like a firearm, an authoritative source said.

The senior official said the city constable initially notified police at the nearby State House.

Members of the Guyana Police Force’s Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) unit initially responded to the report.

Later, uniformed and plainclothes members of other sections of the police force turned up at the scene.

The source said police eventually opened the parcel and found that it was paper that was wrapped and taped in the shape of a firearm.
