A Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) orthopaedic technician has been charged under the Cyber Crime Act with transmitting the image of a private area of a person, police said Monday.
Mr Treveir “Tratts” Sinclair, 20, of West Ruimveldt, Georgetown pleaded not guilty and was remanded to prison.
City Magistrate Fabayo Azore remanded him to prison until October 6 for statements.
If he is convicted, the punishment is GY$3 million and three years’ imprisonment.
Police arrested Mr Sinclair on September 19 and charged him on Monday with committing the offence on Ms Lolita “Lola Doll” Callendar. At the time, she was at the GPHC after she was shot eight times while she was sitting in her car at Texas Square, East Ruimveldt.
Police earlier this month said Mr Sinclair, who was off-duty at the time, admitted to video recording the well-known make-up artist and singer. He reportedly told investigators that he sent the recording to his ex-girlfriend by WhatsApp but after he saw it circulating on social media he deleted it from his phone.

The GPHC has already apologised to Ms Callender and others for the recording. “We deeply regret this incident and extend our sincerest apologies to the patient and her relatives. Safeguarding the dignity, privacy, and well-being of our patients remains our highest priority, and we will continue to take all necessary measures to uphold these standards,” the hospital had said.
