As Guyana inches closer to election day – September 1 – President Irfaan Ali on Monday night said his government would be building a GY$200 million livestock feed mill on the East Coast Demerara.

“Let me tell you we are going to invest G$200 million on the East Coast in a feed mill so that we’ll provide the feed for our livestock farmers and they will be able to carry on their livestock industry without any problems,” he told a People’s Progressive Party Civic (PPPC) campaign meeting at Enterprise village, East Coast Demerara.

Meanwhile, Dr Ali, who is also the PPC presidential candidate, promised residents specifically to tackle poor drainage in their community by rebuilding concrete drains in that Neighbourhood Council.

Street lights, new roads, mobile police outposts, installation of government surveillance cameras, recreational and sport facilities would also be provided over the next five years, he said.

Dr Ali also restated that his government would create industrial parks to relocate various privately-owned workshops and so end the disruption of residents.
