Body of abducted girl retrieved from Tuschen hotel pool

The body of 11-year old Adrianna Younge being taken away from the pool area.

The body of 11-year old Adriana Younge being taken away from the pool area.

The body of the 11-year-old girl, Adriana Younge, who was allegedly abducted and taken into the Double Day Hotel, Tuschen, East Bank Essequibo, was found Thursday morning in a pool at the hotel, intensifying tension among family members and other persons.

This latest development has cast greater doubt about the circumstances surrounding the girl’s disappearance and the sudden emergence of her body.

Police on Wednesday said their video surveillance system showed that Adriana Younge entered a red and black Toyota Raum motor car bearing registration number PSS 4684, which drove off in an eastern direction towards Vreed-en-Hoop.

The hotel was searched on Wednesday by family members and later by police.

Police said they searched around the hotel, including rooms, store room, yard, and roof, but they came up empty-handed.

However, the hotel manager said the surveillance cameras at the facility were not working when he was asked by investigators.

Someone was heard saying, “we searched the pool, we searched the pool yesterday (Wednesday)”.
