Paediatricians and surgeons in Guyana would this week benefit from an expert session on paediatric liver transplants at a continuing medical education (CME) session, the Health Ministry said.
The session would be facilitated by Group Medical Director of Apollo Hospitals Group in India, Professor Anupam Sibal.
During his engagement on Wednesday, April 23 at the Pegasus Hotel, he would also be delivering a presentation on “Finding The Leader Within.”
In his current role as the Group Medical Director of Apollo Hospitals Group in India, Professor Sibal leads initiatives that aim to enhance healthcare delivery and innovation.
Additionally, he is a Senior Consultant Pediatric Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist at Indraprastha Apollo Hospital in Delhi, where he specialises in diagnosing and treating complex gastrointestinal and liver disorders in children.
He boasts over 25 years of extensive experience in the medical field, marked by a distinguished and impactful career.
He has held high visibility roles, notably serving as the president of the Global Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (GAPIO), where he successfully united a community of 1.5 million physicians of Indian origin from 54 countries worldwide, fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange among healthcare professionals.
Professor Sibal played a crucial role in the leadership team that established the Apollo Hospitals Group as the largest healthcare provider in India and the broader region.
His contributions have been instrumental in pioneering advancements in patient care, particularly in championing the patient safety movement across India, which emphasises high standards of healthcare practices, ensuring the well-being of patients while minimising risks associated with medical treatments.
His dedication to improving healthcare systems and outcomes has earned him respect and recognition among peers and patients alike.
