Pedro Haas delivering the results of a desktop feasibility of building an oil refinery in Guyana.

After petroleum consultant at the United States-based Hartree Partners, Pedro Haas outlined the oil refining and product acquisition options available to Guyana, it was time for a very lively question and answer session.

He was asked several questions about the viability of building an oil refinery in Guyana, and several suggestions were floated.

The public consultation on the desktop feasibility study that was done by Mr. Haas for the Guyana government was held at Marian Academy’s auditorium, Carifesta Avenue, Georgetown.

More than 150 persons attended from a broad cross-section of Guyanese including academics, engineers, business executives, civil society and ordinary people.
