Two cousins were early Friday morning arrested in connection with the alleged discovery of more than 87 pounds of marijuana at their apartment located at Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown.
Police said they held the cousins aged 20 and 36 years during an operation at about 12:30 Friday morning.
“Ranks acting on information received went to the duo Second Street, Turkeyen Apartment and conducted a search which unearthed twenty-six taped parcels in a bag, hidden in a plastic barrel, in one of the rooms, weighing almost forty-four kilograms,” the Guyana Police Force said in a statement.
Investigators were likely to charge the detainees and pass them through court later Friday.
