Three relatives shot dead in East Berbice while fishing

Guyanese police are probing the shooting death of three members of one family  including a 15-year old boy at a rice field aback Mibicuri, East Berbice, Divisional Police Commander, Ian Amsterdam said.

“We found three persons. All had gunshots,” he said.

He  said one man, who is not connected to the rice field, has since been arrested. No firearms have been seized, but spent shotgun cartridges were found at the scene.

Dead are 37-year-old Suresh Chandradeo, 15-year-old  Jaikarran Chandradeo and his brother-in-law, Naresh Rooplall, 35.

Investigators were told that the trio left Thursday at about 1 PM to  go fishing, and their bodies wee found at about 10:50 AM Friday, July 22, 2016 near Kokerite Creek, located at about three miles from the Mibicuri Public Road.
